If the number of people in your group exceeds the capacity the boat/license will allow, reach out to the charter you're interested and inquire as they often partner with another captain/charter to accommodate your group. 

​

A FWC Charter Captain License means they also have a USCG license. This license covers the passengers on the captains vessel so while fishing with your charter, you do not need to purchase a separate fishing license. 

​

If you are shore fishing with a charter company or on your own, from shore or boat, Fishing Licenses are required and can be purchased at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com or can be purchased in person at Scallop Cove Bait Shop on Cape San Blas or the Gulf Tax Collectors Office or Bluewater Outriggers in Port St. Joe. Ages 15 and younger are not required to have a permit, as well as Florida residents 65 and older. Shore shark fishing requires an additional FREE Shark Smart Educational course and can be done here.
